I Am Learning About 2D and 3D shapes.

Room 10 and 11 have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes.

We made our shape with toothpicks and marshmallows, yum! After we made our shape we got to eat it. 

"We are learning to make 2D and 3D shapes. It was easy to make shapes. It was hard to find the shapes."

We Are Learning To solve addition and subtraction problems with the number 10.

 "I am learning to solve problems with 10. I find it easy to do addition because I can use my fingers. I find it tricky to write some numbers. I can keep practising using Mathletics. "

We Are Learning our letters and sounds.

I can get my lips ready for the first sound. I can say the first sound in the word.

"We are learning our to sound out words. We find it easy to say the 'z and x' sound. We find it tricky to use our letter sounds when sounding out words.  We sometimes get confused with the letters b, d and p because they look the same. We can keep practising this at home and at school." 

I Am Learning To use describing words

For Mother’s Day we did some special Mother’s Day writing using Word Art.

"I am learning to write describing words. I found it easy to write Mum. It was tricky to write the other words. I can sound them out."

I Am Learning To kick a ball.

On Friday, we were lucky enough to go on the field and learn some football skills. We had so much fun playing football and learning new games.

We Are Learning To read with fluency and expression.

Every week we learn a new poem that we take home to share with our families. We worked with our group to pick our favourite and practised reading it.

"I am learning to read my poem. I am proud of myself for reading my part. I find it tricky to read big books."

We Are Learning To add details to our writing.

"I am learning to write about my favourite things. I found it easy to spell Alex. I found it tricky to spell hard words."
